I was contacted by a PR agency to take photos of someone in my village. I had no idea of the full story and just assumed that it was for a portfolio, or something else. When I arrived, the lady asked me if I knew why I was being asked to take the photos? When she told me the reason for taking the photos, which was that she had had skin cancer, I was in bits. I had to be professional, and concentrate on the reason I was there - to take the photos.
The full story appeared in The Herald
It also appeared in The Press & Journal and The Daily Record
After the photos were published, I read the stories in the newspapers. The reason for the photos was that the lady was receiving a new drug treatment, Nivolumab, which is a new immunotherapy drug. Having seen that, I was delighted to have been part of sharing the story.
I hope that she makes a full recovery and that the cancer goes into remission.
